The environmentalist movement started out benign, fighting to stop polluters and preserve natural resources like forests. Too bad, it got taken over by hardcore globalist Marxists who believe that the end justifies the means and don't really care about the environment because they want to burn the capitalist world down and build a Marxist utopia on the ashes. Worse, the elites at the top are Malthusians who think of people as what the Nazis used to call useless eaters, and would love to find a way to reduce world population.
When not engaging in civil disobedience protests that include criminal mischief, the well-funded environmentalist activists regularly go to the courts to stop any kind of development of land for any purpose, and oppose nuclear energy even though that's humanity's best long-range hope for cheap abundant energy for all. T hey all claim to push "renewable" energy (solar and wind) while blocking the mining of the rare earths and toxic metals needed to make the technology work or dispose of spent materials.

About 30 years ago they fixed on their ultimate golden ticket to Marxist world government, CO2-driven global warming caused by the fossil fuel industry, pushing it with everything they had via the global Marxist U.N. IPCC octopus of kept scientists, academics, journalists, and politicians while trying to hide the fact that it's a scientific hoax. The very name greenhouse gas is a sham because a greenhouse has a roof and Earth's atmosphere doesn't. Earth's atmosphere is a giant chimney not a greenhouse. This caused them to take over and hijack atmospheric science and turn it into "climate science", which is really anti-fossil fuel activism in disguise, really just another false religion.

One quick check to see that I'm right-on is India and China. Notice how the New Green Dealers ignore those countries in their big plans for demanding power? As for India, it's next door to China, which has dreams of turning it Communist, if/when they think it's worth it.
